Pirate Pages

I no longer update this page.

I’m still looking for some pictures of detector vans – can anyone help please?

The virtual detector vans have arrived in the UK. Some audio links suspended owing to PRS/MCPS attack – see bottom of this page. The Internet_and_licensing

A licence is not required for a radio receiver as long as it is not capable of transmission as well (The Wireless Telegraphy Apparatus (Receivers) (Exemption) Regulations 1989 (SI 1989 No 123). The exception to this is that it is an offence to listen to unlicensed broadcasters (pirates) without a licence. Licences are not issued for this purpose. The Radio Communications Agency.

Callum Fairbairn

Callum Fairbairn spent two decades on regional newspapers in Scotland, mostly in council chambers and at budget statements, before writing about the economy, politics and the day's news for Sterling Times. He likes to read the actual documents before he reads the reaction to them. Away from the desk he walks the Pentland Hills with a flask of tea and a very old waterproof.
